Dear members,
I would like to suggest integrating a dedicated meteorological station into Verdis’ national planning and into the « Build Verdis competition » framework. Establishing an official station would allow Verdis to actively contribute weather data to international networks as a newly recognized country.
To ensure compliance with standard meteorological practices, the following requirements should be included in the planning phase:
• Minimum surface area — A station requires at least 36 m², corresponding to a 6 m × 6 m open area.
• Shelter height — The instrument shelter should be installed at approximately 1.2 m above ground level.
These standards ensure accurate and reliable meteorological measurements.
In the future, this infrastructure could support the creation of a dedicated governmental department, such as a Verdisian National Weather Service (VNWS), responsible for climate and atmospheric monitoring.
I had originally proposed this idea in 2025 on the first version of the E‑Residency members’ forum. However, it does not appear to have been discussed again on the new forum platform, which is why I believe it is important to reintroduce it for consideration.
