Are we joining the EU?
Any experience traveling through the EU with a Verdis passport?
In my opinion it is irrelevant to discuss if Verdis should join the EU or not. The absolute most important thing would be to get international recognition.
Seince Verdis is not yet recognised by any UN member state, the passport is not accepted anywhere at this point in time.
agreed, we first need to gain international recognition
Verdis passport may not currently provide the ability to travel internationally in the same way as passports issued by widely recognized states.
I believe that building diplomatic relationships, international recognition, and cooperation with other countries will be important steps for Verdis in the future. This could eventually help make Verdis-issued travel documents more widely accepted.
Recognition is an important part of building a stronger international future for Verdis
I think joining Schengen is more important than joining EU. Just like Norway is part of Schengen but not part of EU. its less regulator burden. Schengen is more important in my view.
Recognition first, and that’s an enormous battle in it’s own right.
At this moment Verdis is the only stamp that can make it into a Verdisian passport, you’ll likely be able to get a Liechtenstein stamp in there, but while it’s a legitimate country they don’t have an actual airport and the stamp is ultimately more of a novelty stamp and not an official immigration/border related one that serves as any sort of recognition.
I’d actually be really interested in hearing what the royal family of Liechtenstein has to say about places like Liberland or Verdis.
Recognition first then joining Schengen
I agree with everyone here. First we need to be recognised, and then we can discuss visa processes, and joining supranational organizations in general.
